The Civil Society Coalition on Peace, Security and Conflict Resolution (CCSPCR) has debunked reports alleging that the Department of State Services (DSS), Jigawa State Command, invited a staff member of the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), describing the claim as false and misleading.

In a statement issued to Stallion Times on Friday by its Chairman, Muhammad Musbahu Basirka, and Head of Secretariat, Fahad Harazimi, the coalition said its independent verification revealed that the purported invitation did not originate from the DSS but from an unauthorized source falsely claiming affiliation with the agency.

According to the coalition, the communication in question directed the individual to appear at a location different from the DSS office at a specified time, raising further suspicion about its authenticity.

The group categorically stated that there is no official invitation or summons from the DSS, Jigawa State Command, to any of its members or partners regarding the matter.

It also affirmed that the DSS, as a professional security institution, has no involvement in the alleged act of intimidation.

The coalition added that it has escalated the suspicious contact details to the appropriate authorities for investigation and necessary action.

On the broader issue, the CCSPCR noted that the matter involving Walida is currently before a court of competent jurisdiction, stressing its commitment to due process and respect for ongoing judicial proceedings.

It urged members of the public and civil society actors to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and allow the legal process to run its course without interference.

Reaffirming its dedication to justice, accountability, and the protection of its members, the coalition said it would continue to monitor developments closely while working to counter misinformation and uphold peace.

The group also acknowledged the efforts of security agencies, including the DSS, in maintaining law and order and safeguarding citizens.
