The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has urged inmates of the old and the new Nigerian Correctional Service Centers not to give up on life irrespective of the situation they found themselves in.
She advised on Wednesday when she visited the two Correctional Centres in Birnin Kebbi.
The Governor’s wife represented by the Coordinator of her foundation NASARA Foundation Abdulrasheed Bala said the visit was part of her social responsibility to know the status of their conditions and add value to their lives.
He encouraged the inmates to be of good conduct to promote their freedom, calling on them “to put their trust in God, who has not given up on them.”
Items donated to the Correctional Centers include Bags of rice assorted food items, toiletries, cooking oil, and two big bulls.
In their separate remarks, while receiving the items on behalf of the inmates the DCC of Corrections in charge of new Correctional Centres, Malam Abubakar Ladah, and the ACC in charge of the old correctional center pleaded with the need to decongest the center.
They both prayed to God to reward the governor’s wife for assisting the needy, especially the inmates. And equally, pray for the successful tenure of her husband.
