Jigawa state Government has announced its plan to establish an Information Technology Agency for the successful implementation of inclusive Digita transformation of e-Economy, and e-governance agenda.
Namadi announced this while speaking during a courtesy visit and information dissemination on inclusive digital transformation paid by Blue Sapphire Hub to the Dutse Government house.
Governor Namadi explained that Jigawa state was a pioneer state in the Federation for Digital Transformation but unfortunately, the mission failed due to some mistakes and gaps in the process of implementing the agenda.
“We learned from our previous mistakes and we will take all necessary measures to avoid such mistakes to achieve the ultimate goals of digital transformation”
He then commended the advocates and partners who consider it very imperative to support the state government to actualize its agenda for digital transformation.
Governor Namadi added that applying Information Technology in governance and economic activities has a lot of advantages, including improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public service, Job creation, and enhancing agriculture and other commercial activities.
In her presentation during the courtesy visit and information dissemination, the Blue Sapphire Team Leader, Habitat Maryam Gwadabe said, they were in the Dutse government house to share some data and information they gathered on how the state government can achieve its desired goals of digital transformation.
She said, the advocacy for sustainable and inclusive digital transformation project by Blue Sapphire Hub, is supported by Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).
Mrs Maryam then presented the document which comprised all their findings and suggestions on the way forward, she also promised to continue supporting Jigawa state Government in this aspect
She maintained that their collaboration would be easier if a ministry or agency for Information Technology was established in the state.
