Meanwhile President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to accelerating Nigeria’s economic transformation through strengthened local content development.
Represented by the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, the President delivered this message at the opening ceremony of the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair.
President Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria’s economic future lies beyond oil, noting that sustainable growth depends on empowering local industries, enhancing value addition, and ensuring that wealth generated within the country remains in the country.
According to him, the administration is closing infrastructure gaps, streamlining trade processes, and deploying digital platforms that encourage local sources among major investors.
“For too long, policies felt disconnected from real-world implications, but with the Nigeria Trade Policy 2023–2027 moving into execution, our success is now measured by new factories and exports to benefit local traders and innovators. The term ‘local content’ is evolving.
It is no longer just about oil; it is becoming central to our industrial growth.
Prioritizing Nigerian-made goods keeps our wealth within the country and supports a circular economy.”
