Customs Intercepts N769m Goods in Kaduna

The Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone B, led by Controller Dalha Wada Chedi, has intercepted goods worth N769,465,907.46 in the zone.

 

According to the controller, the seizures were made between February 17 and March 28, 2024.

 

Items seized include 698 bags of rice 367 cartons of spaghetti, macaroni and couscous, 136 bales of secondhand clothing, 715 jerry cans of petrol, 65 jerry cans of foreign refined vegetable oil, 12 used vehicles, four units of means of conveyance, nine cartons of chakapain xtra (50mg), 425.5 cartons of foreign milky creamer and milk powder, 136 pieces of foreign used tires.

 

The comptroller urged the public to take advantage of the 90-day window to regularise their improperly imported vehicles, especially in light of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s suspension of the 25 per cent penalty previously imposed in addition to import duty on improperly imported vehicles to make it more accessible to citizens.
