The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has intensified security efforts across the state ahead of the commencement of the National Examinations Council (NECO) external examinations scheduled for Wednesday, 26th November 2025.
CSP William Ovye Aya, the Command’s spokesperson, disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the statement, as part of these preparations, the CP on Tuesday received the NECO State Coordinator, Mr. Thaddeus Ajabu, in his office.
The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and enhancing security arrangements for the nationwide examination.
CP Kankarofi assured the Coordinator that adequate police personnel had already been deployed to all designated examination centres to guarantee a smooth, safe, and hitch-free exercise.
Mr. Ajabu commended the Police Command for its proactive measures, expressing confidence that the strengthened security architecture would ensure a peaceful examination environment across the state.
Meanwhile, CP Kankarofi continued his intensive security patrol across Lokoja metropolis and other parts of the state.
His patrol covered communities such as Adankolo, Zango, Crusher, and Felele, including various secondary schools and the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
The Commissioner engaged with community leaders, school authorities, and students, assuring them of renewed efforts to safeguard lives and property.
During the patrol, additional security assets were deployed to strategic locations.
The CP also shared his personal and the Command’s emergency numbers to encourage prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
Residents and community leaders expressed gratitude for the police presence and pledged full cooperation, promising to provide credible intelligence that would support crime prevention.
Reaffirming his commitment, CP Kankarofi stated that the Command remains dedicated to maintaining peace and security across Kogi State.
