The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has conducted a critical on-the-spot assessment of security deployment in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas, following rising concerns over criminal activities in the border communities.
In a statement on Thursday by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the assessment visit aligns with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who mandated intensified security presence and proactive measures to curb criminal threats.
According to the statement, the assessment also reinforces the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
Recent incidents of abduction and cattle rustling, believed to be carried out by migrating bandits from neighbouring states, prompted the reinforcement of security in the area, with additional personnel and equipment deployed.
During the inspection tour, CP Bakori reviewed the positioning of officers and resources and commended the Joint Task Force (JTF) for its efforts.
He urged operatives to maintain vigilance and remain dedicated to their duties, stressing the need for sustained alertness in the fight against crime.
“We are committed to protecting the people of Kano State, and we urge citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities and cooperate with us to combat crime,” he said.
CP Bakori also expressed appreciation to the State Government, the Chairmen of the affected Local Government Areas, and community members for their continuous support.
He noted that their cooperation, prayers, and timely reporting of threats have significantly aided security operations.
The Kano State Police Command reiterated its resolve to stay ahead of emerging security challenges, with the Commissioner’s visit underscoring ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and stability across the state.
