A Kano High Court presided by Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji has stopped the police from arresting the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission, Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado.
The court in a ruling on Monday granted an interim order restraining the IGP and the police from inviting, arresting or harassing Magaji pending the hearing of the substantive suit against his last week’s arrest.
Magaji was last week whisked away by the police over the alleged confiscation of Kano properties of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.
The plaintiffs in the suit are the Kano State Attorney General, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Coruption Commission and Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.
The defendants are the Nigerian Police Force, Inspector General of Police, AIG Zone One, Kano Commissioner of Police, ASP Ahmed Bello and Bala Muhammad Inuwa.
