A Federal Higher Court sitting in Kano on Thursday has issued an interim injunction restraining the Jigawa state government from taking any further step in the investigation of the alleged misappropriation of N1.7 billion allocated for COVID-19 Economic Recovery and Stimulation Program ( J-CARES) Result Area II under FADAMA project.

The court gave the injunction in a suit filed by the former Coordinator FADAMA III Jigawa state Alhaji Aminu Isa Ringim challenging the process followed by the committee set up by the government to review the implementation of the J-CARES FADAMA intervention in the state

Aminu Ringim prayed for the court to restrain the Jigawa state government from using the reports until he was given a fair hearing.

In his ruling, the presiding Judge, Justice Isa Liman gave an interim injunction restraining the Dependent/Respondent in the case not to publish, gazette, take any action, or extract a “White Paper” from the committee report.

The Judge said the restrictions shall be complied with until the court’s determination for the fair hearing and other concerns expressed by the complainant.
