The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Friday, 21 November 2025, paid a visit to troops injured in action at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, pledging the Army’s unwavering commitment to their recovery and welfare.

During the visit, General Shaibu lauded the soldiers for their bravery and sacrifice, noting that he had personally experienced being treated at the same facility after sustaining injuries in combat. He assured the troops that they would receive optimal medical care and encouraged them to follow all prescribed treatment regimens.

The COAS also commended Brigadier General Godwin Ogoh, the hospital’s Medical Director, along with the officers, soldiers, and civilian staff, for their professionalism, dedication, and service. Accompanied by principal staff officers, he toured the hospital to review ongoing improvements and operational readiness.

Continuing his operational tour, General Shaibu visited Headquarters Sub-Sector 4, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, along the Kaduna–Abuja Highway, where he interacted with troops and assessed their morale and preparedness.

The visit reflects the COAS’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of personnel and their families while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency.
