President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians in Nigeria and across the world, urging Nigerians to embrace the values of love, peace, hope, and goodwill that define the season.
In his 2025 Christmas goodwill message to the nation, the President said the celebration of Christmas goes beyond festivities, reminding Christians of the birth of Jesus Christ and His message of salvation as the Prince of Peace.
He thanked God for the opportunity to serve as Nigeria’s leader and offered prayers for peace in the country, particularly among people of different religious beliefs.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding religious freedom and protecting Nigerians of all faiths from violence and discrimination.
The President acknowledged the significant contributions of Christians to Nigeria’s development, noting that the teachings of Christ have inspired many to care for the vulnerable and less privileged, as well as to promote peace, harmony, and tolerance in their communities.
He assured Nigerians that since assuming office in 2023, his administration has remained resolute in safeguarding the nation’s security, unity, and stability, stressing that every Nigerian has the right to live, worship, and pursue personal aspirations in safety and dignity, regardless of ethnicity or religious belief.
President Tinubu disclosed that he has continued to engage leaders of the country’s major faiths to address concerns surrounding insecurity and religious intolerance, adding that such engagements would be strengthened to foster collaboration, prevent conflict, and promote peaceful coexistence.
He also advised Nigerians travelling during the festive period to exercise patience and observe traffic rules to ensure safe journeys.
The President expressed confidence in Nigeria’s collective strength and divine guidance, assuring citizens of continued efforts to build a stronger and more united nation.
