Bichi Emirate to Partner Private Sector on Community Electricity

The Bichi Emirate council in Kano state has pledged to Partner with Private Organizations with aim of providing available Solar Power to some parts of the Emirate.

This was disclosed by the Emir of Bichi, HRH Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero OFR while commissioning a Solar Power Station at Yal’lami Village in Bichi Local Government Area constructed by the Emirate in collaboration with Sand Stream Nigeria limited worth millions of Naira.

The Emir said solar energy was initiated by world technologies to provide energy for less dependence on cooking gas to reduce environmental pollution, climate change, and desertification.

He said the project was part of efforts by the Emirate to provide a conducive atmosphere for the people of the Emirate which is why the Emirate partnered with the company to establish the Yal’lami Solar Power Station for the benefit of the people in the domain and their Neighbours.

The Emir then reaffirmed that the Emirate would not relent in its efforts in providing power energy but more would be done in education, health, modern Agriculture, and entrepreneur programs to enable the people of the Emirate to become self-dependent.

Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero hopes that the new solar power station at Yal’lami village will assist in boosting small-scale industries in the area and promoting the socio-economic activities of people in the area and urged them to use it judiciously.

He prayed to Almighty Allah for a bumper harvest this farming season and continued peace and stability in the country.

The Bichi Local Government Chairman, Prof. Yusuf Muhammad Sabo represented by the Secretary of the Council, Alhaji Usman Garba Bichi commended the Emir for the laudable developmental projects he is executing in the Emirate.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Sand Stream Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba Gana said over three hundred and fifty houses are expected to benefit from the power station and urged people of the area to liaise with their company to purchase metres at affordable prices.

Responding on behalf of the Yal’lami community, Alhaji Hashim Sale Yal’lami commended the Emir for selecting their town to execute the project and assured them that they would use the opportunity to boost their socio-economic activities.
