Big Brother Naija officially kicked off its 11th season on Sunday night with the unveiling of 24 housemates who will compete over the next 72 days for a record grand prize worth N160 million.

Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, this year’s edition is themed “Everything Is For The Taking,” also known as “Show Ya Sef,” promising viewers bigger rewards, fresh twists, and a redesigned house as contestants battle for the coveted title.

The eventual winner will receive N100 million in cash and an SUV, making it the largest prize package in the history of the reality television show.

The contestants, drawn from diverse professions and backgrounds, include entrepreneurs, lawyers, broadcasters, engineers, students, creatives, and business owners, all vying for the top prize.

Among the first housemates introduced was Tram, a 24-year-old streamer from Lagos, who declared that his sole objective was to win the competition rather than pursue romance.

He was followed by Temi Nkem, a 21-year-old model raised in London, who described herself as someone who lives life on her own terms.

One of the night’s biggest surprises came from Abi, a 25-year-old chef and model from Osun State, whose revelation that she is married quickly sparked widespread reactions on social media.

Martins, a 30-year-old visual storyteller from Kogi State, also drew attention after revealing he is already in a relationship despite joining the show.

Other contestants unveiled during the premiere include Chimsom Chuka, Keivo, Mercedes, Kamsi, Sultex, Aikou, Flora, Bells, Gerard, Oyin, Sheba, Araga, Ricky, Nomy, Barry, Neche, Yusuf, Goddessa, Bluethopia, and Cassi.

Several of the housemates shared their game plans, with some hinting at forming strategic alliances and embracing romance, while others insisted they would remain focused solely on winning the competition.

This season also features a newly redesigned BBNaija house built around an “upside-down” concept, showcasing bold colours and luxury interiors designed to reflect the unpredictable nature of the show.

According to MultiChoice, constructing the house is a months-long process involving concept development, design, sourcing, and construction before transforming an empty building into a fully equipped television production facility.

Located adjacent to the live studio in Lagos, the house is equipped with 52 robotic PTZ cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades, and 19 speakers to provide uninterrupted coverage throughout the season.

The organisers said the annual production creates employment for more than 1,000 Nigerians, including engineers, carpenters, electricians, decorators, camera operators, technical crews, caterers, and other support staff.

Speaking on the new season, Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa, Atinuke Babatunde, said Season 11 builds on the show’s legacy of authentic storytelling by introducing higher stakes, fresh twists, and a dynamic mix of personalities expected to keep viewers entertained until the grand finale.

The launch immediately generated widespread buzz on social media, with viewers debating contestants’ personalities, relationships, and early strategies while predicting potential finalists.

BBNaija Season 11 succeeds the 2025 edition, which was won by Imisi.
