Barcelona Turned Down A Historic €250 Million Bid For Lamine Yamal

Steven

According to agent Andy Bara, Barcelona turned down a massive, record-breaking offer for Lamine Yamal this summer from Paris Saint-Germain.
After emerging from Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy system as a 15-year-old, Yamal initially made waves in the world during the course of the last two seasons. The wonderkid’s steady performances for the Catalan team and his outstanding display for Spain at Euro 2024 have only served to fuel the excitement surrounding him. As a result, rumors circulated that Paris Saint-Germain was considering recruiting the young player to cover for the departure of Kylian Mbappe.

Football agency Bara, who presently represents players like Alvaro Morata, Nacho Fernandez, and Dani Olmo, has confirmed the rumors, stating that Paris Saint-Germain made an offer for Yamal during the summer transfer window of 2024 that was almost €250 million (£211 million/$277 million). The agent, who is supposedly connected to both sports director Deco and president Joan Laporta of Barcelona, claimed that the team declined the Ligue 1 team’s offer right away.
“One thing I know for sure is that Barcelona did reject a big offer for Lamine Yamal from PSG some months ago,” Bara stated in an interview with Podcast Inkubator. The estimated value of the deal was €250 million.”

Over the past week, the 17-year-old promised to never leave the club in pursuit of his goals to become a Barcelona legend. However, football fairytales rarely come to fruition and whether Yamal can achieve his dream will remain to be seen.
