Barcelona Reach Preliminary-Agreement With Nico Williams

News Desk

Barcelona have reached a preliminary agreement with Nico Williams with the Athletic Club winger expected to sign a contract that will keep him in Catalonia for the next six years.

This is according to an exclusive report from Foot Mercato.

The French outlet also writes that Williams will likely earn €12 million a season if his move to Barcelona is completed.

However, an agreement still needs to be reached with Athletic. Williams reportedly has a release clause valued at around €60 million.

The 22-year-old was a target for Paris Saint-Germain last summer, and had been rumoured to be of interest to Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

The Spanish international is thought to want to remain in Spain, and if the move to Barcelona is completed, he’ll join up with fellow Euro 2024 winner Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona are looking to build on a season where they reached the UEFA Champions League semi-final (eliminated by runners-up Internazionale Milan) and won La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
