The Agricultural Transformation Agenda Support Program Phase One (ATASP-1) National Program Coordinator, Mohammed Ibrahim Arabi has handed over the rehabilitated of Sectors 1, 2, and 4 Watari irrigation project, Bagwai LGA, Kano State to Gerawa Global Engineering as contractors to handle the project.
Handing over the project on Thursday, Arabi said the project will go a long way towards ensuring food security, job opportunities, and general well-being not only to the people of the area alone but the entire country as a whole.
The National Program Coordinator then charged the contractors (Gerawa Global Engineering) to ensure the speedy completion of the project in accordance with the contractual agreement.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the event include the Representatives of the Kano State Ministry of Agriculture, Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA), Farmers’ Community Representatives, the District Head of Bagwai as well as Chairman of Bagwai Local Government Council, and the Zonal Project Coordinator, Alh Auwalu Ado Shehu who highlighted a number of projects being executed by ATASP-1 in Kano-Jigawa Zone.
