Army Reiterates Commitment to Promote Leadership Capacity of Theater Commanders, Others

The Nigerian Army’s second senior command and leadership seminar was rounded up Thursday with a commitment by the Chief of Army Staff Major General TA Lagbaja to develop and promote the leadership capacity of the Nigerian Army Commanders in a joint environment.

The chief of Army staff who was represented at the closing ceremony of the 4-day seminar by the commander of Saver Warfare Command, Major General A A. Ayanga hopes that participants at the Seminar have benefited from the wealth of experience of resource persons on the rudiments of leadership role in a joint environment.

General Lagbaja urged participants to apply what they learned during the four-day seminar in their Field of operations while dealing with their subordinates and other sister security Agencies in a joint environment.

He pointed out that, the training and retraining of officers and soldiers would continue to be his utmost priority with a view to meeting the emerging security challenges facing the country.

He however commended the General Officer Cimmanding 8 Division Nigerian Army for hosting the well-organized seminar while pressing the participants for their sense of maturity, and positive contribution throughout the four-day period.

In his vote of thanks the 8 Division Garrison commander, Brigadier General Taye Ahmed called on the general public to support the Nigerian Army with credible information that would help them succeed in their fight against insecurity.

General Ahmed expressed appreciation to the chief of Army staff Major General TA Lagbaja for his encouragement and support towards the successful conduct of the four-day seminar.

He hoped that by now participants in the seminar were better informed on their leadership role in a joint environment while thanking the General officer commending Major General Godwin Mutkut for successful hosting of the all-important seminar of some top military brass in the country.
