The member of the National Assembly representing Koko/ Besse, Maiyama Federal constituency Kebbi state under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Salisu Garba Koko (Jarman Koko) has described the Verdict passed by the Appeal court Abuja Division upholding his Election as duly elected member of House of representatives as a clear indication that his Election was free, fair and above all credible.
The National Assembly member made the remarks shortly after the pronouncement of the verdict by the appellant court Abuja Division, which upheld the earlier judgement of the Election Petitions Tribunal in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the outcome at the appellant court has demonstrated to the entire Kebbi state and Nigeria that Nigeria still has the most excellent and vibrant Judiciary in Africa.
“We see this verdict as a victory from Almighty Allah and we thank and appreciate him always for that.
“I commend our judiciary for standing on the side of the truth and wishes of the electorates that massively voted me in.
“I want to use this opportunity to renew my call to my opponent Shehu Bello to come and join hands with me so that together we can make the Constituency better,” Garba urged.
He assured the people of the Constituency of his determination to deliver the more needed dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.
“I will continue to provide an enabling atmosphere that will guarantee the needed development in my dear Constituency.
“I am further determined to advocate for sustained military operations in and around my Constituency until we eliminate bandits and other criminal gangs terrorizing the law-abiding citizens by the grace of God.
“We need the unflinching support and cooperation of all and sundry to achieve success in that direction,” he averred.
He urged people of the Constituency with respective political inclinations to rally round me in my quest to transform the Constituency.
Hon thanked the entire people of the Constituency especially the PDP supporters for their support and prayers to me during the litigation period, which he said has helped greatly help him to record numerous Achievements in the Constituency.
The Hon. Member solicited suggestions and constructive criticisms aimed at making the Koko/Besse, Maiyama Federal constituency the best among many.
It could be recalled that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Shehu Bello Koko having lost at the election petition tribunal in Birnin Kebbi rushed to the appellant court Abuja Division challenging the verdict that upheld the victory of the Hon. Salisu Garba Koko at the election petition Tribúnal in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state.
