The representative of Jigawa Southwest senatorial district under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Mustapha Habeb Zanna has advised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to honourably quit power before it is too late as it has lost focus and failed Nigeria in the last 9 years.

The Senator faulted APC’s nine years of bad governance as responsible for economic degeneration and food crisis that thrown millions of Nigerians into misery.

He made the remarks in an interview with newsmen in Dutse, Jigawa state Capital.

According to him, “After Nigerians had mistakenly voted for APC at the national level three times it is now the party and its people lack the capacity that all aspects to lead a country like Nigeria.

“When PDP left power in 2015 the country’s economy was strong, the exchange rate per one Dollar was N160, the  50kg Rice bag was N16,000, and one litter of petroleum was sold at N85, likewise other commodities were sold at reasonable and affordable price.

“As APC took over the country under the leadership of Buhari, within his eight years the exchange rate per Dollar reached N470, the  50kg Rice bag sold at N37,000 and the liter of petroleum was N145,000 while the price of other goods and services were also increased by over 200 percent.

“As President Tinubu took over from Buhari, the social and economic situation became more intense, within 5 months the country’s Inflammation witnessed unprecedented rises the exchange rate per one Dollar reached N1,100, the cost of 50kg Rice bag reached N60,000 and one litter of petroleum is N620.

“So if you look at the poverty rate in the country is higher than ever, people are dying from hunger and small diseases, insecurity is on the increase, depleting of workers purchasing power, commercializing of education, economic misery and other related social crisis brought by APC maladministration in less than 9 years you know there is need for the party to quit power honorably “.

“APC shall choose the path of honour, to quit the power and give the chance for a confident and relabel party to take over before the country drifted into total collapse.”

He then assured the people of his constituency and Nigeria that, the PDP is there at the steps to take over the power on a democratic process, revive the country’s unity, restore peace, stability, and productivity, and deliver it to the promised land.
