The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the ongoing collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State, allowing more eligible voters to obtain their cards ahead of the November governorship election.
A statement signed on Monday by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, said the extension was approved during a meeting of the Commission on Monday, 27 October 2025, following appeals from stakeholders, civil society organizations, and members of the public who requested additional time for collection.
The exercise, which was initially scheduled to end on Sunday, 26 October 2025, will now continue from Wednesday, 29 October to Sunday, 2 November 2025.
It will cover eligible voters who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in the state.
INEC urged registered voters who have yet to pick up their PVCs to use the extension period to do so at designated collection centres across the 326 Registration Areas (Wards) in the state.
The Commission also reiterated that PVCs would only be issued to voters in person, warning that collection by proxy remains strictly prohibited.
INEC expressed appreciation to residents of Anambra State for their patience and cooperation, and encouraged all eligible voters to participate fully in the electoral process.
