Aliyu Urges New APC LG Executives to Work for Party’s Victory in Sokoto

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has called on the newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) local government executives in Sokoto State to work diligently toward ensuring the party’s success in the 2027 elections.

Abubakar Bawa, Director General, Madia and Publicity, Sokoto State Government House, in a statement on Sunday, said Governor Aliyu made the call in Bodinga Local Government Area while concluding his monitoring of the party congresses held in Sokoto South, Wamakko, and Bodinga local government areas.

He assured the newly elected officials of the state government’s full support to enable them succeed in their responsibilities.

“I am satisfied with the arrangements made in all the areas I visited, as well as the maturity exhibited by the delegates,” Governor Aliyu said.

He also commended the APC National Secretariat for deploying competent officials to conduct the congresses in the state.

Governor Aliyu further reassured residents that the APC in Sokoto remains united and strong, urging party members to renew their commitment to strengthening the party ahead of future elections.

Also speaking, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, an indigene of Bodinga Local Government Area, praised the Governor for executing numerous people-oriented projects across the state.

“Mr. Governor, you have taken us by surprise because you are doing much more than we expected,” Dingyadi said.

He called on the people of the state to continue supporting the administration at both the federal and state levels to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The Minister also urged the newly elected APC officials in Bodinga to dedicate themselves to mobilising greater support for the party in 2027.

In his remarks, the State APC Chairman, Isa Saddiq Achida, congratulated the new executives and charged them to work tirelessly for the party’s development.

He noted that the Ahmed Aliyu-led administration has recorded significant achievements across various sectors, stressing the need for sustained support.

The newly elected local government party executives emerged through consensus and were endorsed by key stakeholders across the 23 local government areas of the state, with 27 officials elected to serve as party executives in each council.

In Sokoto South Local Government Area, Hayatu Muhammad emerged as Chairman, Yakubu Dauda Indiye as Vice Chairman, and Hamza Atiku as Secretary.
In Wamakko Local Government Area, Umaru Nabara was elected Chairman, Masarana Wamakko as Vice Chairman, and Sani Aliyu Maisango as Secretary.

In Bodinga Local Government Area, Isa Aliyu was elected Chairman, Ahmed Tsoho as Vice Chairman, and Alhaji Umar Aliyu Dingyadi as Secretary.

Governor Aliyu was accompanied on the monitoring tour by the Member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, Ahmed Abdullahi Kalambaina; State APC Chairman, Isa Saddiq Achida; Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa; Chief of Staff, Government House Sokoto.

Others are Aminu Haliru Dikko, representative of the APC leader in the state, Malam Bashiru Gidan Kanawa; commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants, and other party stakeholders.
