The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing insecurity and restoring lasting peace across the state.
The Governor’s Technical Adviser, Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, in a statement on Monday, said Governor Alia made the declaration during a briefing on the successful deployment and reinforcement of security personnel to troubled communities in the Kwande Local Government Area and other affected local government areas.
The governor commended security agencies for their relentless efforts in restoring calm to the affected communities, noting that those responsible for acts of violence and instability would be brought to justice.
According to him, the additional deployment of security personnel marks the beginning of a decisive crackdown on criminal elements threatening the peace of the state.
Governor Alia stressed that bandits and other perpetrators of violence would be tracked down and prosecuted, assuring residents that his administration remains committed to safeguarding their lives, farms, and communities.
He further stated that his government would not be discouraged by resistance from those behind the attacks, emphasizing that the safety of the people remains a top priority.
The governor reassured citizens that his administration is working tirelessly to ensure their protection and reiterated his commitment to exhausting all necessary measures to achieve peace across the state.
“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: I will not be intimidated, and I will not be deterred. I will crush insecurity in Benue State,” he declared.
