AGGE, Kebbi SUBEB Organises Town Hall Meeting to Collect School Priority Needs

The Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in partnership with Accountability for Good Governance in Education Cluster (AGGE), Women Rights Advancement And Protection Alternative (WRAPA), Youth HUB Africa has organized a town hall meeting to collect school needs that are of priority to the people, to educate community members on projects itemized on her 2022 Action Plan and provide same community members to make inputs to the 2023 annual Action Plan.

Speaking at the town hall meeting held at Shagalinku Hotel, Birnin Kebbi, the Acting Chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Hassan Umar revealed that the kebbi state government is committed to the improvement of basic education in the state.

According to him, the Governor has laid a premium on the development of education in the state, and to ensure the realization of the objectives he said over 2 billion Naira have been released to undertake various projects in primary and junior secondary schools across the state.

While highlighting some of the projects to be executed which include: the rehabilitation of over 200 classrooms, fencing of schools, and provision of furniture among others.

He commended ACGE-Cluster, Palladium Scale, and USAID for their support to the board in particular and the state in general.

The SUBEB Boss therefore directs all stakeholders to ensure the execution of a standard project. warning that the government will not condone any noncompliance to the contract specification. he added.

In their various remarks, the Director of Planning Research and Statistics, SUBEB, Alh. Muhammad Bala Zuru, engineer Shahu Umar, and Mr Olusegun, Executive Director of Youth Hub African all called on the stakeholders to complement the efforts of the state government in ensuring the execution of standard projects for the development of education in kebbi state.

Highlights of the meeting were modalities and description of the SUBEB 2022 Action Plan, Submission of school needs by stakeholders plus questions and answer sections from all stakeholders including community of persons with disability, SBMCs.
