Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has continued to mobilize electoral support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), its gubernatorial candidate, and other candidates for different positions in the forthcoming elections.

Governor Tambuwal, who is himself, seeking to become a Senator representing the Sokoto-South senatorial district of the state, has been at the forefront of a statewide campaign to garner votes for the party at all levels.

A recurrent theme in the campaign slants of the Governor, who is also the Director General of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organization, has been the rallying of party members and other supporters to vote for the PDP everywhere in the country.

The same message was repeated on Thursday at Tureta and Bodinga local government areas, two of the seven areas of the state that Tambuwal is seeking to represent when he leaves office in May.

At Tureta, the Governor urged all eligible voters to go and collect their PVCs so that they would not be disenfranchised on voting days.

“Anybody who has not registered and is yet to collect his PVC should go and collect it. This is because this is what will enable you to make your choice of voting for the PDP at all levels,” Tambuwal said.

On why the people should vote for the state gubernatorial candidate, Mallam Saidu Umar (Mallam Ubandoman Sokoto), Tambuwal assured that the projects initiated by his administration would be completed by him; while there would be improvements on those already accomplished.

“This span the areas of education, health, agriculture, rural development, provision of employment to the youths, and societal reorientation.

“If there are areas that we are yet to cover, God willing, Mallam Ubandoma will cover them. I’m also certain that he will initiate his own projects that will be beneficial to the people of this local government area and the state,” the Governor said.

In his remarks, Mallam Ubandoma emphasized that he was part of the team of the current administration that executed many projects in the state. “I will, therefore, not be part of those that will abandon or neglect the realization and full optimization of all that has been done by Governor Tambuwal’s administration,” he said.

“For this reason, sustaining the legacies of Governor Tambuwal is an obligation that we must fulfill. I assure you that if you support and vote for me, we will continue with what the Governor has started and initiated more,” he added.
