The Forum of Former Managing Directors of Kano State Agencies and Parastatals (2015–2023) has congratulated former Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on his appointment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 Tinubu/Shettima campaign.

The forum, in a statement on Monday, described the appointment as a recognition of Ganduje’s long-standing contribution to political leadership, governance and democratic consolidation in Nigeria.

It noted that Ganduje’s new assignment, which includes mobilising senior citizens, elder statesmen and critical stakeholders for the success of the APC presidential ticket, requires political experience, credibility, institutional knowledge and strong consensus-building capacity.

According to the former agency heads, Ganduje’s extensive political career places him in a strong position to deliver on the responsibility.

They recalled his service as Kano State Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, two-term Deputy Governor, Governor of the state and later National Chairman of the APC.

The forum said its members, who served as chief executives of various state agencies, parastatals and corporations between 2015 and 2023, witnessed firsthand Ganduje’s commitment to institutional development, operational efficiency and grassroots development during his tenure as governor.

“Few leaders in contemporary Nigerian politics embody such a vast and seamless political continuum,” the statement said, describing Ganduje as “a pillar of progressive politics and democratic consolidation.”

The former agency heads expressed confidence that his national network and experience in consensus building would enable him to effectively mobilise senior citizens and other influential stakeholders ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The forum pledged its “unwavering solidarity, loyalty and support” to Ganduje in his new role, while wishing him sound health, wisdom and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.

It also prayed for the success of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket and the APC in the 2027 presidential election.
