Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, has described the Community Reorientation Council (CRC) as a key grassroots structure saddled with responsibilities in schools’ feeding programs, renovations, support for early childhood education, rehabilitation of hospitals, water projects, and other community development interventions across the state.
He stated this today, Thursday, while receiving CRC leaders from the 44 local government areas of Kano State, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office to congratulate him on his emergence as Deputy Governor and to extend Sallah greetings.
“I appreciate this visit and the opportunity to meet with old partners.
“I recognize your efforts in feeding programmes, schools renovations, support for early childhood education, rehabilitation of hospitals, water projects and other community development initiatives” he said.
He commended the Council for complementing government efforts in delivering social services and improving livelihoods at the community level.
Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo assured the delegation that their concerns would be conveyed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Kano State Government will address them soon.
He expressed confidence that the CRC would continue its contributions to community development across Kano State.
“I am confident that you will continue these sacrifices, which will not go unnoticed throughout Kano State,” he added.
Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of the CRC, Shakoor Yassar, said the visit was to congratulate the Deputy Governor on his emergence and to extend their Eid-el-Kabir greetings.
He appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Deputy Governor for their support and concern for CRC members across the state.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to meet with Your Excellency and we pray for the success of your administration,” he said.
Alhaji Yassar noted that the Council had continued to implement interventions in education, healthcare and social welfare, while appealing for sustained government support to strengthen its operations at the grassroots.
