Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The governor, popularly known as the “farmer governor,” in a message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to Allah for granting the faithful the strength and grace to successfully complete the Ramadan fast.

He commended Muslims for their commitment, perseverance, and resilience throughout the spiritual exercise, noting that fasting remains one of the core pillars of Islam and a period of deep reflection, discipline, and devotion.

The farmer Governor reminds them of the need to continue to practice the lessons they have learnt from the Holy Quran and Hadith during the spiritual exercise and remain steadfast to the virtues of charity, humility, peace, forgiveness, love, and sacrifice, among others, beyond the ramadan fast.

He calls on all Muslims to use this period of Eid-el-Fitr to pray fervently to Allah for an end to the security challenges bedeviling parts of the state and the country as a whole to ensure economic stability.

The farmer Governor also tasks citizens to sustain their prayers for leaders at all levels for wisdom to continue to lead the people justly for a guaranteed egalitarian society.

He wishes the Muslim Ummah a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration and urges them, especially the youth, to celebrate with a sense of responsibility and avoid violent activities, as the law will take its course on anyone caught in such acts .

The farmer Governor then reassures all residents of the state that the New Niger Agenda is sacrosanct.
