On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, successfully reunited a 13-year-old boy, Ibrahim Saleh, with his family at the Command Headquarters in Kano.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the boy was found on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, wandering around Kwankwasiyya City along Zaria Road in Kano.

Investigations revealed that he hails from Dogon Hawa village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Ibrahim, a Fulani by tribe, was kept in the care of the NSCDC Gender Unit for three days while efforts were made to trace his family.

Following successful contact, his parents were located in Dogon Hawa and informed of their child’s whereabouts.

His father, Malam Saleh, accompanied by other family members, later arrived at the NSCDC headquarters, where the boy was formally reunited with his family.

The family expressed appreciation to the NSCDC for its professionalism and humane intervention, and assured that adequate measures would be taken to ensure the child’s safety and prevent a recurrence.
