Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has encouraged the people of Kebbi State and the Nigerians at large to smoothly transit into the new year with renewed hope, faith, and optimism.
He made this call on Wednesday in his 2026 New Year message to the good people of Kebbi State and, by extension, the entire nation.
Governor Idris urged people to use the occasion to fervently pray to God for a new dawn in Nigeria, as the country continues to seek divine intervention in addressing on its socio-economic, political, and security challenges.
He advised Nigerians to remain agents of peace at all times, stressing that no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity.
He further encouraged Nigerians to remember the less privileged and extend a helping hand to those in need, noting that the season should exemplify compassion, selflessness, peace, love and generosity.
“I want to use this medium to appeal to the people to provide succour to the less privileged members of society in order to improve their standard of living.
“This is a period of gratitude, prayer, love, peace and celebration. As we exchange gift,s and share joy, let’s renew our commitment to peace, mutual respect and progress.
“Together we can build a prosperous Kebbi State and Nigeria of our dream.
“Therefore, on behalf of Kebbi State Government, I congratulate everyone for witnessing yet another year,” he said.
Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s commitment to executing more developmental projects that will give all citizens a sense of belonging.
He also solicited continued support and cooperation from the people of the state to enable his administration to deliver more dividends of democracy.
