The new police boss hails from Sokoto South local government area of Sokoto State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on June 10, 1994, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police after training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
