The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Sector Command, has announced a temporary diversion of traffic along the Kaduna–Zaria Expressway to facilitate ongoing construction work related to the Kaduna–Kano Standard Gauge Railway project.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by CC Tijjani Iliyasu, Sector Commander, the diversion will take place at Kilometer 49, Gwaranza Village, beginning 1 November 2025, and will remain in effect until further notice.
The diversion is necessary to allow engineers to construct an overpass at KM 49, one of the key components of the railway infrastructure project aimed at improving transport connectivity in the region.
Motorists plying the route have been advised to comply with traffic signs and the instructions of traffic officers stationed at the site.
The Corps also urged drivers to reduce speed and exercise extreme caution when approaching the diversion area to ensure safety for all road users.
In the event of an emergency, road users are encouraged to contact the FRSC through its toll-free number 122 or call 09139601839.
The Kaduna Sector Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and free flow of traffic during the period of construction.
