Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has flagged off the construction of a 30-kilometre feeder road linking Tsakuwawa, Koya and Kafin Hausa communities in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area.
A statement issued by Zainab Rabo, the Senior Special Assistant on madie to the Governor, said the project was launched on Sunday during the Jigawa State Government’s Citizen Engagement Programme, tagged “Gwamnati da Jama’a”, held in Miga Local Government Area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Namadi said the road project is part of his administration’s 12-point development agenda aimed at improving rural infrastructure, easing transportation and enhancing economic growth.
“The construction of this 30-kilometre feeder road from Tsakuwawa to Kafin Hausa will no doubt ease movement, support agricultural activities and boost economic development in the state,” he said.
According to the statement, Governor Namadi disclosed that work on the project has already reached 45 percent completion and is expected to be delivered within 18 months.
He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing more people-oriented projects across Jigawa State.
Governor Namadi also appealed for continued support from citizens to enable his administration deliver more dividends of democracy in line with the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event attracted community leaders, government officials and party supporters.
