Bayer Leverkusen star Lucas Vazquez has disclosed that he made the right decision to leave Real Madrid this summer.
Vázquez’s experience and smart movement have stabilized Leverkusen’s attack, easing earlier tactical issues under Ten Hag.
In a chat with Cadena Cope, Vazquez has expressed his delight to be competing at the elite level.
“There was interest from several teams, but I was clear that I wanted to continue competing at the elite level. This opportunity is good for all aspects of my life.
“I’ll probably finish my career outside of Spain; I don’t see myself going back. Right now, I’m doing very well and eager to keep playing.
“I miss my teammates, the club’s employees… above all, the people. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to enjoy Real Madrid a lot. I didn’t want to leave, but I think it was a good change for me.”
