To strengthen governance with capable and experienced hands, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Wednesday presided over the swearing-in of the new Chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Sa’idu Yahya, alongside three Special Advisers.

The newly appointed Special Advisers are Kabiru Getso Haruna (Employment), Dr. Saleh Musa Sa’ad (Corporate Social Responsibility), and Mr. Sylvester Cole (South-South Community).

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Yusuf said the appointments were based on merit, competence, commitment, and the trust reposed in the appointees to deliver on their mandates.

“You are expected to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and hard work in discharging your responsibilities to achieve the set goals of this administration,” the Governor charged.

The Governor particularly urged the new PCACC Chairman to remain neutral, fearless, and diligent in the fight against corruption, warning against practices that could undermine the integrity of the Commission.

“Steering the affairs of PCACC requires strict adherence to rules and guidelines. You must remain impartial and committed to the Commission’s mandate of fighting corruption in the state,” he stressed.

Governor Yusuf also commended the former PCACC Chairman, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, for his decade-long leadership of the Commission, describing him as a committed champion in the fight against corruption.

He advised the new Chairman to work closely with Muhuyi for guidance in handling pending corruption cases.

In their remarks, the appointees thanked Governor Yusuf for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to serve with integrity, fairness, and dedication for the progress of Kano State.
