Yamal Set To Smash Ansu Fati’s Record & Make More History For Barcelona

Stephen Enoch

With a record that Ansu Fati now holds, teenage wonderkid Lamine Yamal is about to make even more history at Barcelona.
Yamal, a graduate of La Masia, has been rewriting history since leaving a renowned academy system at the age of fifteen. He is already the youngest player to play for Barcelona in a match that is competitive, as well as the youngest to score a goal in La Liga.
The day after turning 17 years old, Yamal and Spain won the European Championship, demonstrating his dominance on the international front as well. The 2024–25 campaign has continued to build upon the confidence and enthusiasm that were established throughout that tournament.

In Barca’s 4-1 victory over Girona, the highly regarded young player—who is the favorite to win the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy titles this season—scored two goals. His season total and total number of appearances in the Spanish top division now stand at three and eight, respectively, thanks to those efforts.
Before turning 18, fellow homegrown talent Fati scored 11 goals in La Liga, setting a club record in Catalonia. Since Yamal won’t turn a significant birthday until July 2025, it’s expected that he will surpass that milestone and make history once more.
