23 suspected internet fraudsters, famously dubbed ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Hustle Kingdom’, were arrested during the raid.
Among those apprehended were eight suspected trainees allegedly undergoing coaching in online scams, while 15 others were picked up during coordinated sting operations in other parts of the state.
The anti-graft agency, in a statement released on Friday, disclosed that the illegal operation was situated at Doofco Palace, a residential complex located behind Government College in Umuahia.
“Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Directorate, on Friday, July 18, 2025, uncovered a cybercrimes training centre known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Hustle Kingdom’ at Umuahia in Abia State and arrested eight suspected trainees undergoing training and fifteen others,” the statement read.
The identities of those arrested at the centre were revealed as Toona Henry, Tavershima Solomon, Chi Orseer James, Ubee Benjamin, Gabriel Ibe Ifeanyi, Tindue Godwin, Muhammed Terwase Micheal, and Destiny Andrew.
