The whirling of the current administration into the activities of the Basics and Secondary Schools in the state has attracted stakeholders in education.

Before the present administration of Malam Umar Namadi, Basic and Secondary Education were among the important areas that need the urgent attention of the government. Education is one of the important aspects of human capital development, building and strengthening basic education is paramount to having a good foundation of the state education system that can enhance human capital development.

The recent activities of Malam Umar Namadi in addressing some contentious issues, ranging from the educational administration, teacher quality, and quantity within this period has exposed his yearning to accomplish his agenda in education, which was publicized during his campaign.

It has all famous for the past six or more years, the Common Entrance Examination and placement of primary school pupils is in bedlam, the pupils usually lose the first term and half of the second term of every academic year, for writing and release of the examination. Likewise, the Placement Examinations for the Junior Secondary Final year Students who are advancing to senior secondary school have a similar problem.

But, we are grateful within the short period of Malam Umar Namadi almost all the contentious areas have changed, the examinations and placement are done as scheduled, and the discipline has been reinforced for the punctuality of the teachers and the students.

The current recruitment of the J-Teach staff for the basic schools and upgrading of over three thousand degree holders to teach across the various secondary schools in the state, within this period, is a significant total rebuilding the our basic and secondary school system.

It is also a signal of understanding the teacher quality issue and the continued decline of the teachers in our school due to the retirement of the teachers and the changing of careers of some educational staff.

But, we are still expecting more commitment from the government in this sector, the system really needs teacher quality, teaching quality, and teacher quantity.
