Posters promoting the 2027 presidential ambition of Oyo State Governor, Engineer Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have surfaced across major towns and streets in Jigawa State, including the state capital, Dutse.
The posters, bearing slogans like “To Move Nigeria Forward 2027: His Excellency Engineer Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for President, Federal Republic of Nigeria” and “2027: To Move Nigeria Forward, Seyi Makinde is the Answer,” have been prominently displayed at key locations such as Unity Pentagon, Police Headquarters, Mai Kwaya Roundabout, Obasanjo Road, Muhammadu Buhari Street, Abdussalam Abubakar Street, and Abdullahi Mai Kano Road, among others.
Speaking to National Update, the National Secretary of the Nigeria Youths Awareness Group for Makinde 2027 (NYAG Makinde 2027), Lawal Abdullahi, described the poster campaign as the kickoff of a nationwide movement aimed at drafting Governor Makinde into the 2027 presidential race.
“His Excellency, Engineer Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, has shown true commitment to national service.
“We are calling on all lovers of democracy, regardless of political affiliation, to rally behind him for the betterment of Nigeria,” Abdullahi stated.
He said the movement comprises youth and civil society organizations from across the country, united in their belief in Governor Makinde’s leadership potential.
“We are a moving train, and there is no stopping us until a Seyi Makinde presidency becomes a reality,” he added.
Abdullahi revealed that consultations are ongoing with influential political stakeholders nationwide and claimed the movement has received widespread support.
“This is not just a campaign, it is a national awakening.
“We have already produced campaign materials, including posters, billboards, handbills, and branded items,” he said.
By next week, we will extend the campaign across Northern Nigeria, in shaaAllah.”
He emphasized that the campaign will soon spread to Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Borno, Yobe, and Gombe, with plans to extend it to southern parts of the country. “Jigawa is just the beginning.
The North will roar for Seyi Makinde, and then, the South will follow,” Abdullahi said with confidence.
Although Governor Makinde has not officially declared his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election, the growing grassroots mobilization signals rising momentum in support of his potential bid.
