Galatasaray have expressed their delight with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after his goal earned Nigeria a 1-1 draw against Benin in Thursday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Nigerian international’s glancing header late in the second half leveled parity for the team.
Reacting via their social media handle, Galatasaray noted that Osimhen’s goal sealed qualification for next year’s AFCON tournament.
“Congratulations to Victor Osimhen who scored the only goal for Nigeria in the 1-1 draw with Benin in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, securing their qualification from the group stage.”
Nigeria now boasts an unassailable 11 points from five matches, four points ahead of second-placed Benin. They are set to host Rwanda in Uyo on Monday to conclude their qualifying campaign.
