2023 Elections: Police Commences Mop-up Operations in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command in conjunction with other heads of security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has strategized how to beef up security in all the nooks and crannies of the state before, during, and after the 2023 general elections.

SP Mohammed Shehu, the Police spokesperson of the state in a statement on Saturday said as part of the strategies, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf led police tactical operatives to Kotorkoshi – Yandoto – Tsafe axis.

According to SP Shehu, CP Kolo also assured the general public, especially the people of Zamfara state that security agencies and other stakeholders recognized to play a role in the elections are jointly working in synergy to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.

“And, to further strengthen the existing security emplacement, the state CP has directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police officers (DPOs) to adopt the same initiatives in their respective jurisdictions.

“CP Kolo then called on members of the public to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies to make the state conducive for free, fair, and peaceful elections,” the statement added.
