According to a recent report, Zinedine Zidane would rather sign with Manchester United than Bayern Munich this summer.
Zidane’s transfer to Germany would not be easy, according to L’Equipe, even though he is one of the main candidates for the soon-to-be open position at the Allianz Arena. Zidane is rumored to be close to signing a contract with Bayern, but he has major objections because he wants to play for United.
The team is now seventh in the Premier League, but they might theoretically finish as low as 13th. Erik ten Hag is under a lot of pressure at Old Trafford, and European football is not a given. Zidane is reportedly keeping an eye on things at Old Trafford.
One of the most prosperous managers of the contemporary period, Zidane has guided Real Madrid to three consecutive Champions League titles. In addition, the team has won two La Liga titles, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup. He has only ever managed Real, though.
If Zidane is keeping an eye on things at United, it’s unclear if he’ll be ready to sign a contract with Bayern before the end of the current campaign. It might be wiser to hold off on hiring the Frenchman until the summer.
