Zamfara has commenced contributory healthcare scheme for it’s over 420,000 civil servants across the state and local government councils.
The head of civil service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe said while flagging off the new health scheme in Gusau that all civil servants from the state and it’s 14 local governments would benefit from the new scheme.
He said, the state government is fully committed to improve the healthcare of its workforce with a view to enhanced their productivity while in service.
He called on the civil servants to take advantage of the magnanimous gesture of the state government to ensure higher quality medical care for themselves, their and families.
He commended the management and stàff of the Zamfara State Contributory Healthcare Scheme (ZAMCHEMA) for kick starting the scheme early which he said will go a long way in ensuring that civil servants in the state get the best medical services.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Health, Hon Alhaji Yahaya Kanoma said adequate support and logistics have been made available to hospitals and health clinics across the state with a view to enhanced the performance of doctors and nurses in providing qualitative Healthcare to the people of Zamfara state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Secretary, ZAMCHEMA, Dr Yusuf Abubakar commended the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and other healthcare development agencies for the emergence of the new program.
