The leadership of Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has said the Igbo people are not silent on Nnamdi Kanu’s case. Neither will they allow him to suffer alone in custody like an orphan.

This was made known by their National publicity secretary, Alex Ogbonnia during an interview on Friday. Ogbonnia said they have been meeting and discussing on issues regarding Nnamdi Kanu’s case, although they don’t publicize the details of their meetings.

Reacting to allegations from critics that they are not doing enough to stand united for Nnamdi Kanu, Ogbonnia said it was not a statement of fact to say they are not united.

Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife had set up a 28-man committee to ensure the case of Sunday Igboho is properly looked into. This move led to backlash from critics against South East elites, they felt they are hiding behind their shell and are not willing to do enough for Nnamdi Kanu.

However, Ogbonnia described Igbo people as the most united set of people, he said they will not allow Nnamdi Kanu to suffer like an orphan.
