UK FCDO Pays Condolence Visit to the Emir of Kano

Kano Regional team of the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in company of the state level program officers paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero on Monday.

The visitation team had Kano Regional Office Staff, FCDO Programs in Kano, Education – GEP3 and KaLMA, Health – Lafiya and SunMap2, Governance – PERL, FCDO Partners/Implementers, Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education CHRICED Nig.

The Regional Coordinator and Head of Kano Office, Nafisa Ado introduced the teams and gave a condolence message on behalf of the FCDO.

In her message, she condoles the Emir and the people of Kano on the loss of the Emir’s mother, Mai Babban Daki, Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero.

KaLMA program team leader offered prayer on behalf of the Team.

In response, the Emir thanked the team for the visit.

He further recognizes and commends FCDO for all its activities and contributions to the development of Kano State and assured the team of the support of the Kano Emirate Council to FCDO’s development efforts in improving the livelihood of the people of Kano state.

The Emir states that he looks forward to FCDO coming back to intimate him further of UK’s HMG activities and how he can support its delivery.

He also expressed his condolence to Her Majesty, the Queen on the death of her Husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Nafisa presented a condolence letter from the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms. Catriona Laing to the Emir.

On his part, the Emir presented FCDO team three enlarged poster calendars with his portrait.
