UDUTH Sokoto Reacts to Alleged Harm to a New Born Baby

 The Management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, has received a complaint letter from a mother of a newborn baby girl delivered at the Hospital, alleging a nursing officer working with the Hospital, has caused injury to the eyes of her baby.

According to a statement issued to journalists by the Principal Information Officer of the Hospital, Mansur Wadata in Sokoto, the Hospital Management are investigating the case with a view to authenticating the claim.

“We are assuring the general public that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against whoever is found wanting, in accordance with the civil service rules and condition of service of the Hospital.

“UDUTHS is ever ready to work with relevant authorities in carrying out investigation to ensure that those involved are made to face the full wrath of the law,” the management said.

The general public are hereby reassured that the Hospital would not derail from its core values for excellent performance: “Transparency, Professionalism, Respect for the rights of its clients and Discipline”.

While the Hospital, according to the statement frowns at any act of indiscipline by any of its Staff, it equally assures the general public of its commitment towards ensuring strict discipline against unethical and unprofessional conduct by any of its staff.

To this end, UDUTHS Management however called for calm from its clients (patients) and the general public, as it would continue to ensure the safety of the patients and their relations, the statement added.
