UDUS Pro-chancellor Inaugurates Governing Council

The Governing Council of Usanu Dan Fodiyo University Sokoto will not get involve in the day today running of the University, as that is the statutory function of the Vice Chancellor and his management team.

The pro- chancellor of the University senator Ibrahim Muhammad Ida made the statement while inaugurating the University governing board today at the senate chamber. 

He said the expectations by government, general public, staff, students, Parents and the immediate constituency are very higher and the challenges are formidable and daunting but if we work as a team and adopt a cordial and collaborative effort, we would achieve a lot to the institution great.

“we pledge to do our best, and we undertake to justify the confidence reposed on them” says the pro- Chancellor.

According to him the governing council would chart a road map that would make the University to be among the best in the world judging from the personal background of the members of the governing council.

“I Wish to solicit for support and cooperation of the university Senate, the management, the staff unions and students in the task of developing the university to become a world class model. ” says the pro-chancellor.

The pro- Chancellor however expressed gratitude to the president Muhamnad Buhari for appointing them to exalted position in the University system, adding that the appointment would enable them to contribute their quota in the development of Education in Nigeria.

In his remarks the vice chancellor of the university brahim Lawal Bilbis said 8sman Dan Fodiyo University was establish in 1965 but commenced academic activities in 1975.

He said every member of the university community is a member of the University management, adding that the whole communiy is working as a team, whatever affect one it affects all.

The vice chancellor further stated that, the University would continue to maintain moral, character and academic excellence in the awards of degree and other certificates to its graduates.
