Hon. Prince Yakub Yakub

Today is 31 years remembrance of my grandfather, the Late Ejeh of Ankpa, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Dr Yakubu Adaji Oma Itodo Akpa (MON, OIK) a descendant of Ateyele.

He greatly contributed to the development of Ankpa Kingdom, and was a meritorious ruler who served with diligence and honesty.

He actually brought Islamic Religion to Ankpa. He was a man of impeccable and unimpeachable integrity.

“We mourn your transition not because you are our king but because of your many contributions to the entire Ankpa kingdom.”

He stood at all times with the people, eyeballing political and military demagogues and putting an end to the treacherous evil it brings. The late paramount ruler contributed immensely to the socio-political development of Ankpa kingdom without bias.

During his reign, Ankpa and its environs witnessed robust developments.

The late Ejeh will be remembered for his humility and forthrightness. He was a detribalized elder statesman whose words of advice on national concerns will be greatly missed.

We the member of the royal dynasty will forever continue to uphold your legacies.

The Late Ejeh is a figure whom I described as “the last of the titans.” he always stood out as a bridge builder whose influence spread across the entire people of Ankpa and the entire Igala Kingdom.

Rest in heavenly peace.
