Trevor Noah Gave Reasons Why You Should Watch Grammy Awards

As he returns to hosting the Grammy Awards, Trevor Noah is prepared to take on one of the most difficult audiences of his career: the millions of viewers.

Before Sunday’s telecast, Noah tells The Associated Press, “That is easily the most nerve-wracking thing that I do, but I enjoy it every single time.” “Every year, there’s a fresh experience that sticks in my memory as a highlight.”
The 2024 Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS and Paramount+. Noah will host the awards for the fourth time in a row during the show, which features SZA as the top nominee with nine nods.

He expressed excitement for the live acts, particularly those featuring the nominated singers Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Travis Scott.

Noah remarked, “I think Burna Boy is one of those musicians who has an instinctive knowledge of how different and powerful the live experience is. I always adore seeing artists like that.” “He truly is amazing at capturing the essence of a unique occasion with live energy.

“Billie Eilish has never performed with a lackluster attitude. Her performances on stage always remind me of a scene from a vintage movie. It’s incredibly lovely and well-thought out. One of the greatest pop performers of our time, in my opinion, is Dua Lipa. She performs admirably for this generation.

It’s certain that Travis Scott will be doing something incredible, so we better prepare for it. I would pay attention because I believe there is a nice balance between predictable and unexpected fantastic things.

The comedian, who is most known for hosting “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central from 2015 to 22, has won an Emmy for best talk series for the most recent season of the program. His previous win came from presenting “The Daily Show — Behind the Scenes,” a spin-off that was chosen as the best short-form variety show in 2017.

In addition to hosting this year, Noah is nominated for a Grammy. His comedy CD “I Wish You Would” is up against Dave Chappelle’s “What’s in a Name?”, Wanda Sykes’ “I’m an Entertainer,” Chris Rock’s “Selective Outrage,” Sarah Silverman’s “Someone You Love,” and Chris Rock’s “I’m an Entertainer.”

Noah quips, “I’ve read through all of the Grammy statutes, and nothing indicates being the host will give you any advantage in winning the award.” “I believe that Dave Chappelle is the front-runner because, quite honestly, he is.”

If that occurs, don’t expect Noah to be whining about losing the Grammy to Chappelle or about it being his second consecutive loss to Chappelle in the best comedy album category.

“I find it incomprehensible that people exist in a world where losing something you’ve never had is possible. I’m not a Grammy winner. I’m not a Grammy winner. Unless my Grammy gets taken by David Chappelle when he visits my house. He says, “I can never lose the Grammy to him.”
Award show presenters have had a difficult few years; comedian Jo Koy received harsh criticism at the Golden Globes earlier this year, while The Slap ruined the Oscars in 2022.

Being the host was never easy, in my opinion. I’ve always believed that anything can occur. For me, I suppose that’s just the essence of comedy itself,” says Noah. “Audiences are never my fault. Even while I may not always love audiences, I never hold them responsible.

Noah receives support from Harvey Mason Jr., president and CEO of the Recording Academy, who describes the comedian as “a total pro” in his role as host.

“There is never any hesitancy or interruption. There is never a misstep. In my opinion, he connects so well with the musicians and the music community secondly because he is a music enthusiast, fan, and lover, Mason adds.

“My goal is to create a space where people feel free to converse honestly and openly with one another and where I feel truly at ease,” says Noah. “As a species, we lack a certain amount of sympathy for one another.”
