Tiger Wood’s Son Strokes An 86 In The PGA Tour Pre-Qualifier

The 15-year-old son of Tiger Woods will have to wait for the PGA Tour. Charlie Woods scored 86 in a pre-qualifier for the Cognizant Classic on Thursday, including a 12-stroke amplification on one hole.

Out of the 112 golfers who submitted their cards, the youngster tied for 110th place at Lost Lake Golf Club without making a birdie.

Four players will qualify for the Cognizant Classic at PGA National from the top five and ties from each of the four pre-qualifier venues. These players will compete in the Monday qualifier.
Charlie Woods has participated in the 36-hole PNC Championship in a scramble format with his father for the past four years.

With two bogeys and a double bogey on the par-5 fifth hole, he got into trouble early. Nevertheless, the teen’s dreams were finally dashed on the seventh, where there was water beyond the green and down the right side. He scored a twelve.

After two bogeys and a double bogey on the back, Woods finished with an 86 after turning in 47. A 65 was the top score, and you needed a 67 to move on.

Olin Browne Jr., who Woods played with, made it to the U.S. Open in Los Angeles last summer. The three-time winner of the PGA Tour Olin Browne’s son shot 72.

Players without a tour status must pay a $250 entry fee to participate in the pre-qualifier.

When Tiger Woods got a sponsor’s exemption to compete in his first PGA Tour tournament, the Nissan Open at Riviera, he was sixteen years old and had already won the first of his three consecutive U.S. Junior Amateur championships. In rounds 72–75, he was unable to make the cut.
