The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has turbaned the New Shettiman Sokoto and New Walin Sokoto in a low-keyed ceremony.
His Excellency, Governor of Zamfara state, Hon. Bello Muhammad and the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya were turbaned as Shettiman Sokoto and Walin Sokoto respectively.
The turbaning ceremony was attended by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Mutawallen sokoto, speaker Sokoto state house of assembly, Commissioners, SSG, Head of Service and some officials of Zamfara state government.
Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III charge the new traditional title holders to add to the enormous responsibilities of leadership they are holding for the betterment of the society.
He said they were recognized worthy for the two titles by the sultanate on the basis of their commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
The sultan said the ceremony was low -keyed in respect to the covid-19 protocols.
The ceremony was conducted Friday evening at the Sultan palace amidst Celebration of Maulud of Maulana Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass whose Tijjaniyya followers across Africa undertook Sokoto metropolis in thousands.
